This my second contribution to Amy’s (at Soul Dipper) adventure to “Occupy the Blog-o-Sphere” each Thursday. Click on this link to find out more and decide if you want to spread the light, too.
I thought it would be appropriate to remember some special moments and people in celebration of Black History Month, which happens to be February.
“Always remember, you have within you the strength,
the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars
to change the world.”

I love what you shared here, Lorna, and especially in honor of Black History Month.

This is fun, easy, and makes everyone (including me) feel good. Win-Win all the way around!

There are lots of wonderful women to highlight. Shouldn’t be too difficult!

Our Canadian version is not specifically honouring women this year. I ought to put on my Mrs. Pinkerton hat and find a story about one of our black women.

I love the idea of this. We can never have to much positive energy floating around the blgosphere.
Thanks for the info – ~~~ : – )
WOW – two great suggestions so far, Lorna.
Toodles,

Whoo Boy! I’m very honored. I already have the Kreativ Blogger Award, so I’ll have to pass on that one (although, thank you so much for thinking of me). I don’t have the Very Inspiring Blogger Award yet, so I will graciously accept that one. Thanks so much!

Hi Lorna, I am passing along the Kreativ Blogger Award and the Very Inspiring Blogger award. Congrats! http://kourtneyheintz.wordpress.com/2012/02/02/long-overdue-blog-awards/

Oh good. I’ll look forward to your post. When I have a bit of free time I create several of these and just schedule them to post on future Thursdays. That way I don’t have to think about what day of the week it is (which is strenuous sometimes!). 😉

Thanks Patrick! I do have plenty ideas in my blog post “hopper.” It’s a good thing I’m retired and have control over my time (which never seems to be enough). 🙂

Maybe we should just forget about reserving one month to focus out attentions on selected groups in society and just honor everyone all the time. That would be novel, eh? 🙂
Feb 02, 2012 @ 08:33:31
Amen to that!

Thanks for sharing your light, Lorna. May we all be a beacon of high purpose.

BHM in the UK is in October. You’d think they would coordinate these things 🙂

I love the quote. I stopped in to say hello, and saw you had already posted. You are truely a writer. You never sleep, and when you lie down, you probably stare at the ceiling and think of things. Have a nice day.

Oops, almost forgot about this today. I’ve gone back and added a bit to my post today. Great quote. 😉
