I know if something is offered to me for free, I get suspicious.
You get what you pay for, right?
I suppose in some many most cases, that’s true.
But not in this case.
In this case, you’d be as crazy as dog trying to catch a bug not to take this offer AND tell everyone you know about it.
In this case, you’re getting a real bargain, and who doesn’t love a bargain?
Starting today and ending on July 5 (Saturday), you can CLICK HERE to download a FREE COPY of the second edition of my memoir, How Was I Supposed to Know?
(You’ll need a Kindle App for your device if you don’t have a Kindle.)
Giving away free copies of your book is supposed to boost sales. I’ve read that. So far, I haven’t seen that happen.
Maybe you could help me out?
1. Download the book if you haven’t already, read it, and give it a review.
2. If you have a Facebook, Twitter, or any other of the zillion-and-counting social media sites, tell your kindred virtual pals about my memoir. Golly, it’s free for the next five days. They should love you for it.
3. If you know of a book club, recommend my memoir. Surely a book about living through challenges that all of us face and dealing with them with both grace and humor should appeal to someone out there…
4. If you know an agent or Hollywood producer, I’m willing to talk.
I’m just curious. Why do you think free giveaways work to boost the sales of a book? What else should I be doing to get this book circulating and selling?

Oh, thanks, Robin! I appreciate the tips and the support. ❤
Some people are naturals at marketing and then there are people like me… 😉

I know it is a tough world for writers. I feel bad about my limited budget. I recommend taking stacks to bookstores, my Dad did this, leaving an invoice and then, checking back often. Going may also help them to put a face to the book, maybe even have an Author’s Open House. I bet there are many more talented writers who may wish to share their secrets to getting their books circulated! I will just root from my corner of the world and wish you All the Best, Lorna!! Hugs, Robin

The Scorpiolicious Lorna (aka, she whose name means “lost”) has made her memoir, How Was I Supposed to Know?, available to download for free for a few days only. Lorna’s story is a moving one, and she tells it with great courage and her trademark humour. It’s a model for anyone contemplating writing their own memoir. This is how you do it, and win a real audience of loyal fans along the way.

Isn’t that the truth!?

I will suggest that for sure.

I’d probably find it easier marketing someone else’s book than my own. 🙂

Maybe she could recommend my book to her club…

My wife belongs to a book club. As a semi literate, I’m not allowed to join.

You are so good at the dreaded task of marketing. Can I hire you???

Thanks so much for your support, Peter! I’ll watch for your review and I WILL bug you if I don’t see it in a reasonable amount of time! 😉

Wait a bit. After the promotion, I’m thinking of reducing the price. I’ll let you know. Also, When my novel comes out, I may do a promotion where you buy the novel and get the memoir for $0.99. So be patient, okay? In the meantime, do you know any book clubs in your area? A library perhaps?

Boo…..hiss……and raspberry….Amazon won’t let me download the free one because I bought the book before……guess I’ll have to pony up again…..you devil you.

This is a chance to get Lorna’s book free… I can recommend the read, just do a critique or write up when you’ve finished reading it… as I say well worth down loading…

I have the same marketing problem. It’s hard to know what to do but just keep trying things. I’ve reblogged. I’ll cross my fingers and toes for you too. Can’t hurt! 🙂

Right I went to Amazon.com and went to get a copy, and it refused to give me a copy because us Brits have to use the UK Amazon. Anyway, never one to be stopped, I’ve whizzed over there and bought a copy ( yippee ) which I should have done ages ago, and yes I will read it and review it, because you deserve no less from me. If you don’t hear anything, email and tell me to get off my lazy backside and review it. I don’t mind being reminded
