You have? Great!
You haven’t? Well, what’s stopping you? It can’t be the price! There’s still TWO days left to get a FREE copy of the e-book. Just click here to get the link.
Maybe you think that the life story of an alcoholic Boomer woman who’s divorced and has a crap basket full of health problems just isn’t your “thang.”
Think again. The best memoirs (let’s assume mine is in that category), are not about the person telling the tales, but about the reader.
What’s that you say?
It’s true (according to me).
The best memoirs (still, mine is in that same category) tell the universal story of what it means to be a human being living an imperfect life. Sound familiar?
Just to give you an example, Here is a transcription from a hand-written “thank you” note I got from a 21-year-old female. She sent it to me after reading my book.
“Lorna, you are such an empowered woman. Reading your book was one of the best parts of my summer. Your light shines through. Always. Learning about everything you have been through and how you have excelled made you such an inspiration to me. I just wanted to say thank you for opening up to the world and sharing your life. If you can be that brave, then so can I.”
This book is not an autobiography; it is a book filled with lessons on how to face life’s curve balls–when to duck and when to put up your mitt. It’s not Chick-Lit; it’s Hum-Lit.
Please tell everyone you know about the book and pretty please write a review on Amazon.

None of the fine reviews the 1st edition garnered came along with the 2nd edition. I tried HARD to get to them, but couldn’t. So PLEASE fill up that Amazon page with reviews! Thanks!
As you are reading this, I’m recovering from surgery, so don’t be surprised if I don’t respond to any of you for a little while. Sorry about that…Hey, more fodder for a sequel to my memoir, right?

Feb 16, 2014 @ 12:52:57
Rob made me get it! Will put a review on my blog when I finish and will write a comment on amazon too, oh and I am following. I like to put reviews and help, I don’t know if it helps with sales but maybe more word of mouth will help in some way. Thank you for my free book.
Feb 16, 2014 @ 12:06:32
Reblogged this on The Photographic Journey of bulldog. and commented:
You have to hurry to get this free… time is running out, and as I’m 80% into the book I can recommend it highly, it is a fascinating read, and is down to earth good… the trials and tribulations are fascinating… get it now while its free… a damn good read…difficult to put down…
Feb 16, 2014 @ 09:38:32
Yeah, When I get rich and famous for being the woman of medical mysteries, that 1st edition should fetch a lot of money!
Feb 16, 2014 @ 09:33:11
Aw, thanks, Rob. Tell everyone you know about it. I’m good at promoting other people’s work, but have a hard time with self-promotion. You have a lot of followers. Maybe you could reblog the post about the free book promo (ends today at midnight) or just talk it up. I’m less interested in the money and more interested in getting my story out there because i believe that it can help to change people’s lives.

I’ve never been stabbed or shot, but i imagine this is what it feels like. Recovery is going okay, I guess. I feel a bit better each day. Thank God for pain meds!
And thanks for asking, Rob!
Feb 16, 2014 @ 09:07:14
Damn forgot to ask how are you recovering from the surgery??? well I hope… still have you in my prayers…
Feb 16, 2014 @ 09:06:29
I’m about sixty percent through your book and it’s brilliant… you alcoholism certainly seemed similar to mine and I would also not go to AA but fought it without the 12 steps etc.. now 25 years dry…. but I now stand in absolute awe… a PhD.?? Under those circumstances?? I am blown away… Doctor Lorna, just doesn’t sound right though… I’m loving your story and will certainly write a comment on amazon…
Feb 15, 2014 @ 16:59:20
That’s OK. It’s a first edition! Priceless!
Feb 15, 2014 @ 16:42:46
Certainly will,, 😉
Feb 15, 2014 @ 16:34:25
Well, download the free one–it’s a much cleaner version of the own you bought! I feel badly for everyone who bought the first edition, but, hey, the orignial may be worth more than the paper it’s printed on when I become rick and famous… Don’t mind me–I’m one painkillers after my surgery. 😐
Feb 15, 2014 @ 16:31:05
I’m unclear about that myself. The arguments I’ve heard are these:
Amazon uses an algorithm based on number of downloads (paid or free) to decide if they want to give a book some publicity. Also, the more people see it, the more likely they are to recommend it to others after the promotion period has ended. That’s the way it’s supposed to work. People who have done it, swear by it. SO far I have 60 downloads. I wish I had 600! I guess it is designed as a way to get the buzz going on a book. I’ll let you know how it works out.
Feb 15, 2014 @ 14:48:23
Damn — and I PAID for it!
Feb 15, 2014 @ 11:57:23
I have done just that… but what worries me is how do you benefit from giving your book away.??
Feb 15, 2014 @ 09:35:41
Thanks for supporting the book (and me)–it mean the world to me that you and I are cyber supporters! 🙂 Enjoy the read!!!
Feb 15, 2014 @ 09:33:27
I sure hope you find it enjoyable. Thanks for your support and tell everyone you know all about it! 🙂
Feb 15, 2014 @ 09:31:47
