Before…

The old chompers may not look horribly out of whack now, but if left to their own devises, it would be Halloween around my home every day.
After…

No one told me that having braces makes your eyes puffy. I look like I’m having my proof-of-life picture taken by scary hoodlums who are telling me to pretend that I’m fine so they can get top dollar for me. I don’t think they’ll get it…

Have I told you lately how much I love you? 🙂
Dec 04, 2013 @ 18:50:10
I had those things on for two years, my sister’s set came straighter than mine but it’s better than before. Not the eyes, dear Lorna, the inside on the cheeks must be tender but it’s going to be worth it, trust me if not the scary dentist 😉 You’ve a lovely smile, the metal just adds more bling!

Absolutely! This whole experience is testing my Buddhist resolve to remain serene in the face of whatever comes my way. I’m tired of constantly noticing my teeth. They are driving me nuts!
Dec 03, 2013 @ 15:36:00
Thanks, Izzy. Somehow knowing that I’m not alone dulls the ache a bit…
Dec 02, 2013 @ 22:40:18
I had severe root canal problems on teeth that were all in a row but each one had to be done separately and I can so identify with you because of that constant pain. I hated getting up knowing that my day would be filled with pain.
I hope things get better real soon. Seding healing hugs,
Issy xoxo

Ouch. Are those braces making us a bit sensitive in other areas too, hmmm?
Dec 02, 2013 @ 17:16:15
Pain, suffering, drained bank account. This is a miserable experience on so many levels!
Dec 02, 2013 @ 17:11:02
Funny. Very funny…
Dec 02, 2013 @ 17:08:28
You’re a sweet man, Al. Might I suggest you spend you money on an eye exam, though? 😉
Nov 30, 2013 @ 20:25:40
I don’t know what the ransom amount is….but I’m chipping in as much as I can!
Nov 29, 2013 @ 12:14:37
Just go to the second hand store, thoses braces are the reason, and purchase some “new” gray or silver wardrobe pieces to set off your “new” smile.
Nov 27, 2013 @ 20:53:16
Aahhh … you poor dear. Those braces better be worth all the pain and suffering. Hope it gets easier to tolerate them eventually.
Hugs xoxo

Ha! That’s quite a visual! Now I’m rubbing my puffy eyes to wipe away the tears of laughter. Thanks a bunch, pal! 🙂
Nov 27, 2013 @ 14:41:24
Well, the 2nd one is sort of a forced smile. I’ll try to better the next time. Thanks, J!
Nov 27, 2013 @ 14:40:39
You might be on to something there, Casey. My eyes have been constantly puffy and red–and not because I’m crying (not all the time at least)!
Nov 27, 2013 @ 14:35:23
Oh, you sweet-talker, you! 🙂
Nov 27, 2013 @ 14:01:15
I laughed when I saw your pictures. Old? You’re gonna’ blow the image with those thirty-year-old looking photos. 🙂
Nov 27, 2013 @ 11:52:40
My eyes have been puffy also because of dental work lately. I think the pain /nerve connection between the teeth and eyes is very strong!
Nov 27, 2013 @ 10:55:24
The main thing here is that you are smiling in both of them 🙂
Nov 27, 2013 @ 01:33:59
If you think those eyes are puffy.. you should see mine in the morning… I’m looking for a supplier of those wheels they put on the bottom of suitcases to take the strain off my back…
Nov 26, 2013 @ 18:00:02
Thanks George! Happy TD to you, too!
When I can muster it, I’ll take a picture with a big, broad, genuine smile! 🙂
Nov 26, 2013 @ 17:30:05
Oh, I thought the braces were going to look like a football mouth guard or something! They’re fine. They look downright harmless, but I bet they collect food like a sieve. I swear. I think they’ve moved that tooth on the right side back in place?? The teeth look good as they are.
Happy Turkey Day! 🙂
Nov 26, 2013 @ 15:47:52
You are so gracious. Focus on the positive, right? 😉 I do have a small mouth compared to my eyes and nose. That should deflect attention away from my metallic mouth as long as I don’t wedge my foot in there…
Nov 26, 2013 @ 15:43:22
Oh, come on Diana! No wonder your romance novels are such big hits–you know how to spin a good yarn! 😉
Nov 26, 2013 @ 15:42:21
Doesn’t look like the same person, huh? Well, Peter, doesn’t feel like the same person, either…
Nov 26, 2013 @ 15:41:27
I didn’t mean for that to happen, just couldn’t muster a big smile… 😦
Nov 26, 2013 @ 15:11:25
What braces? All I see are your eyes.
Nov 26, 2013 @ 14:19:09
Blimy, two real lookers there. which one is you ?
Nov 26, 2013 @ 13:57:15
They definitely make you look younger!
Nov 26, 2013 @ 13:08:41
I like your earrings. 😉 That’s a cute photo of you with the braces. I don’t see you look puffy. Wipe your eyes then look again. xoxox
