Have you ever met someone whose name is just too funny, especially given what they do?
Well, I just wrote a post about it over at Legends Undying as part of my Sunday Gig as a Contributing Writer over there. Check it out if you are the curious sort…

I do know … well, he has passed away now … someone named Johnny Walker. His name was John J. Walker but everyone called him Johnny. He started to inrtoduce himself as Johnny Walker to get peoples reactions. He was a hoot. I don’t think being named after liquor is as bad as Moe Lester. YUK …. on that name. I wrote a story about him I may have to look for that and post it.
Toodles,
Izzy
I’m popping over to Legend’s as soon as I catch up on your posts.

Butz wrote his “book” at the same time! Wow, that was a loooong time ago for me. You, you’re still just a “kid!”
Talk to you in a minute…(I see you have a couple of other comments above)…very nice!
Skip 🙂 xo

I know that one from way back. I’m thinking junior high school! 🙂

How about “Yellow River” by I.P. Freely? Come on Lorna, these are “classics!”
Skipper 🙂 xo

That’s just a joke, right?
Apr 08, 2013 @ 15:40:20
How about “Under The Bleachers” by C. Moore Butz? No, really!
Take care,
Skip 🙂

We have a doc at our local hospital called, no kidding, Dr. Blood. Was he destined for medicine or what?
Apr 08, 2013 @ 15:03:22
Yes. After I posted, I thought of several that I knew locally–Drown’s Funeral Home for one!
Apr 08, 2013 @ 15:02:26
Yes, I used to watch his show. He did the funny wedding names. They were a hoot!
Apr 08, 2013 @ 14:58:01
Thanks. I try to think of short silly “funnies” for this Sunday edition…

Oh that is just wonderful! Who has the last name “Christmas?” Of course a baby girl would be named Mary! I had an Environmental Science Professor named Dr. Baum. He named his son Adam. Adam Baum. That’s just mean.

Too funny. We have a Drown’s Funeral home around here. I mean, really!

I thought the same, but for the ones I listed, I saw their drivers’ licenses or ads in the yellow pages for their services. I supposed these days with Photoshop, one can create very real-looking false images, but they are funny anyway! Thanks for stopping in and commenting. I really appreciate it! 🙂

Wow! With a name like that, I’d be into spandex and big hair, too!

I worked with a girl named Amber Midnight. She favored tight animal prints and stiletto heels. What were her parents thinking?

Funny names are a secret pleasure of mine, well not all that secret anymore
Apr 08, 2013 @ 01:06:49
Really? I think this is a gag, too funny, tho.

I remember in Southern Ontario, Haskett’s Funeral Home. I cannot help but wonder if I’ll end up in a Haskett Casket!

I once worked as a nanny for a lady named Mary Christmas. She was pulled over on a road trip in a town called Santa Claus. (Georgia I think.) The officer looked at her name and he said he just couldn’t write a ticket to Mary Christmas in Santa Claus! True story…

Good one. 🙂

Too funny. Sometimes one wonders what parents are thinking when naming their babies. Every once in a while, Jay Leno does these on hi show.
Apr 07, 2013 @ 13:45:54
I know that I know some, but I just can’t remember them!

I love funny names. I collect silly doctor names. It started with Dr. Dragon, my childhood dentist. The doc who did my major surgery was Dr Herbert Hoover (I was told to be wary if he predicted a rapid recovery.). But the best one ever is the guy who headed up WHO’s AIDS program: Dr. de Cock.
