Feeling listless, lifeless, liverless? Longing for some zip in your doo-dah?
Well, this is your lucky day, you poor pathetic thing. I’m surprised you were able to muster the will to turn on your computer. But you did! And golly gee wiz, you’ll be happy you did!
You stumbled on the perfect blog today! I have a cure for whatever is ailing you, as long as what is ailing you is a hankering to enter a writing contest because you’re bored and really want a reason to write something new and fun.
See? I told you that is your lucky day. You have to start trusting me, People.
Here’s the deal. The writing contest is being hosted by the ever popular hoster of writing contests: Dark Jade from Legends Undying (formerly The Dark Globe). He is very skilled and experienced in running writing contests, unlike me, who would want everyone to win because I don’t want anyone to lose. It’s a childhood trauma thing…
Anyway, the theme is…are you ready for it… Dragons. Bet you didn’t see that one coming, did you? Yup. Dragons. What better to warm these cold winter nights than the toasty glow of dragon breath? See I just wrote your first line for you. Or not.

Okay, so I’m scared of fire-breathing dragons. But I can handle Puff the Magic Dragon…unless Puff was a cleverly designed symbol for pot. Then that’s just wrong.
You can go straight to Legends Undying to get all the rules for the contest. But I’ll give you the basic D Tails (details or Dragon Tails, get it?):
1) The contest starts February 7th, and ends February 17th
2) Limit your submission from 0 to 1,200 words. You can manage that, right?
3) The Judges haven’t been all selected yet. No Judge can enter the contest. Dark Jade and I will be Judges. I agreed to be a Judge because I look awesome in a black robe.

Oops. Her, I mean My robe opened. She, I mean I was just reaching for another one of these fascinating entries to read. Judging is very hard work. See how serious she, I mean, I look?
4) All entries should be emailed to JadeDark68@Yahoo.Com, between February 7th, and February 17th and will be posted on Legends Undying during the contest period
5) There will be four awards given: A) Most Imaginative B) Most Magical C) Most Scary D) Most Reader’s Choicy. The messages here are A) you have great odds of winning something B) your story can be, but doesn’t have to be, scary because dragons can be, but don’t have to be, scary C) you can vote on the submission you like the best, too.
6) Winners will be announced on February 22nd and the awards will be fancy Dragony Badges you can display on your site and, of course, Dragon-Braggin’ Rights.
Remember to check Legends Undying frequently to read entries (you can vote for your favorite) and to check on any updates to the rules.
So get your creative writing thinking caps on, sharpen your pencils fingers laptops wits whatever you want to sharpen without hurting anyone and enter this contest. It’s sure to get that old zip in your doo-dah. And who doesn’t want a bit more of that action?

Jan 29, 2013 @ 15:18:54
You better do it now! What better time to give it a go? You could gain the much coveted Dragon-Braggin’ Rights! (I made that up, but it still counts.) 🙂

I guess so. I does NOT have to be scary and no genres were excluded in DJ’s rules. So go for it, Diana!
