Aw. Come on. I’m an artist. I don’t do shameless self-promotion. What’s that you say? This may bring my artistic talents to the light of day? Well, then…
I’m preparing a post in which I want to name writers who are working on books that need a bit of publicity.
If you are one of those writers, let me know ASAP. My addled brain can’t remember (I subscribe to 200+ blogs), so you gotta help me here.

Hey, Gang! It ain’t the kind of nuts we’re used to or the kind that will get us through the winter, but it’s fruity enough for us to go have a look-see.
Speaking of self-promotion, hop on over to Phil’s blog, Random Thoughts, for a post I just did. It’s quite random, so it fits into his theme beautifully.

LOL well women who never do what they should are my kind of women π
Dec 01, 2012 @ 14:14:43
I wish I’d known about this before my last post. I’m sure I’ll get a chance to highlight other writers’ work. You’ll definitely be top on the list, Pete!
Dec 01, 2012 @ 11:38:16
I’ll let you give me some selfless promotion once I’ve completed my novel if you want π Likewise, hit me up when your books finally published.
Dec 01, 2012 @ 07:34:09
You’re most welcome!
Nov 30, 2012 @ 15:49:09
thanks π
Nov 29, 2012 @ 11:13:15
Done! π
Nov 29, 2012 @ 10:28:04
Why not. I’m game. π
Nov 29, 2012 @ 10:24:56
“Yet…” Now that’s encouraging! I’ll be here to help you promote it when you’re ready! π
And, yes, I’ve avoided Facebook and have no plans to enter that world, even though all the marketing books say I should…
Nov 29, 2012 @ 04:08:34
Such a good idea, you lovely chickie, you! If I remember correctly you don’t like Facebook but I joined a group called MasterKoda.com there that helps writers as well. It’s great and so are you. I just don’t have any book ready right now. Yet. Lol
Nov 28, 2012 @ 17:38:31
Thank you!
Nov 28, 2012 @ 17:02:16

James this is the same Next Big Thing Challenge that you were tagged for. I would have already put you on the list, but Paige did that for me!
Nov 28, 2012 @ 16:03:16
This is Cool… I can either send you My Kickstarter Link and Finished Book Cover for My Up and coming Fantasy Novel, or I can send you My “I Died Once” Link (which you have), with a Picture
I’ve kind of already marketed the hell out of “I Died Once”, but I’m not sure you want to mention My Kickstarter Project on this Post you’re doing
Let me know, and I’ll send you the Info. on whichever book

Nov 28, 2012 @ 15:34:15
So do you want to be included?
Nov 28, 2012 @ 15:33:31
Done! You’re in!
Nov 28, 2012 @ 14:03:25
hey Lorna, two nanos two stories and one still trying to finish. you might have seen my updates on Legend Undying. will complete this again and the story apart from editing.
Nov 28, 2012 @ 14:01:53
I think I can identify with that little artist and his phobia about shameless self-promotion. I HATE marketing…and find so many excuses to not do it. So, I’ll put “Winter is Past” out there. (http://victoriacslotto.com/)I’m working on editing the second novel, “The Sin of His Father.” It’s a story of redemption through forgiveness…a young man learns on his mother’s death bed that he was conceived in an act of rape. I haven’t begun to shop it to an agent or publisher yet. In fact, I keep finding other things to do other than edit. (I finished the first draft 2 years ago). Writing is not an easy vocation, is it? Thanks, Lorna.
Nov 28, 2012 @ 12:57:32
Oh… Well, we need those too… ha!
Nov 28, 2012 @ 12:57:03
That would be lovely, thanks.
Nov 28, 2012 @ 12:55:42
Only good luck…we’re talking about stuff coming from me here–the eternal (and infernal) optimist! π
Nov 28, 2012 @ 12:54:54
Yes, I saw. Babies and posts have a way of doing that…
I can shoot you an email when the post comes out…
Nov 28, 2012 @ 11:32:45
That would be nice… wait… we are talking about good luck, right?
Nov 28, 2012 @ 11:32:16
Okay. Thanks. I might forget though. I am in the middle of a week of posts about a baby, and it is sucking me in like a black hole.
Nov 28, 2012 @ 11:20:44
I don’t think I have too many French readers and this is an initiative mostly for novels.
Your book sounds wonderful, though. Thanks for responding.
Nov 28, 2012 @ 11:15:29
Let’s hope that this brings a whole new experience to you in the good luck department!
Nov 28, 2012 @ 11:14:19
I’m working on the post right now. I hope to have it out by Friday at the latest. Stay tuned. Then you get to shine by telling folks about your book. Hopefully lots of my readers will pop on over to your blog and read about your work. That’s the way these things are supposed to work, anyway! π
Nov 28, 2012 @ 10:52:13
Hey, that’s a nice idea you’ve there π I’m editing my book but i’s in French so I doubt it’d apply to your readers. Anyway, if there are some French readers out there, it’ll be a personal development book, coming out next year. 7 Keys to the Freedom of Being. (How to create your own model in a world in crisis, how to be authentic, how to be free from destructive emotions and limiting beliefs, how to reprogram yourself in order to live the life you deserve, etc.) If you find it has a place here, there you go then π Author name is HΓ©loΓ―se De Smet. Thanks Lorna!
Nov 28, 2012 @ 10:35:10
I have had lucky hours, maybe a day here and there.
Nov 28, 2012 @ 10:34:38
So what happens now?
Nov 28, 2012 @ 09:59:22
And I think you are an angel for doing it…
Nov 28, 2012 @ 09:36:17
Wonderful! π
Nov 28, 2012 @ 09:34:56
Aw, come on. I can’t believe that!
Nov 28, 2012 @ 09:34:28
Perfect! And it is funny! Thanks. π
Nov 28, 2012 @ 09:33:45
Part of this blogging community is helping each other out. I’m just doing my part… π
Nov 28, 2012 @ 09:33:05
Lets face it Lorna. You are one of my main guides to succesful blogging so In would be very pleased to have my name in your post. Thankyou for your kindness
Nov 28, 2012 @ 09:32:57
Have fun! π
Nov 28, 2012 @ 09:32:33
The post is a “blog hop” to highlight your next big project. As I understand it, your project doesn’t have to ready for publication–you only have to be working on it so folks get an idea of what might be coming from you. Are you in?
Nov 28, 2012 @ 09:30:57
You could publish your personal notes on napkins and really get the world talking… π
Nov 28, 2012 @ 09:29:50
Your essays are marvelous. Maybe putting you in this post would give you the nudge you need, Peter.
I know what you mean about marketing. It’s my next challenge, too. But blogging is a great way to start building a network that will market a collection of essays for you. There are also tons of resources out there that help you to self-publish for little to no cost. If your goal is to have a book out there (versus making a ton of money), then becoming a published author is absolutely possible. And by the time you’ve organized your essays into a collection, I can be a good resource as a place to start to help you market it! π
May I put your name in my post?
Nov 28, 2012 @ 07:48:18
I am scratching around on the edge of a book. To be honest. One of the things you notice in Blogland is hiow many “would-be” novelists there are out there. I think a good grasp of marketing and networking are almost more important than writin g skills and are key to success : I am truely awful at both skills. My blog, though followed by you and a few other hardy annuals, is largely unread, so I can’t see where the massive sales of my novel would come from. Neverthe less. Like many others I am tempted to have a go.
Nov 28, 2012 @ 05:27:57
Feeling left out in the cold, Lorna.
I am NOT working on a book to be published. I am NOT even working on a book NOT to be published. Remember, this is the woman who sometimes feels nauseous on entering a book shop. Feeling sick to the pit of my stomach with the avalanche of print vying for attention. Unless I know exactly what I want I flee the place if only not to throw up in public.
Admittedly if I could have committed something – in writing – longhand, ink on paper, say one/two hundred years ago I might have toyed with the idea like a not so hungry cat does with a mouse – abandoning it half dead.
And no, I am not raining on anyone’s parade: Good luck to you and all your prodigees. I mean it.

I’m working on a couple of books at the mo, one fiction and one non-fiction, but they’re not actually anywhere close yet to being ready to publicise!
Nov 28, 2012 @ 01:54:45
Will pop over there π Have a lovely day, Lorna π
Nov 28, 2012 @ 00:29:14
Hope you manage to help someone, an author, get a bit of publicity and a foot up in the industry… like the idea…
Nov 27, 2012 @ 21:42:55
Arthur is my name… which is why pouring my art out is doubly funny… I hope.
Nov 27, 2012 @ 21:42:08
Oooh. I never had one of those before.
Nov 27, 2012 @ 21:30:20
Can I get your first name for the post or do you just want me to use the name of your blog?
Nov 27, 2012 @ 21:27:07
Well, then, this is your lucky week!
Nov 27, 2012 @ 21:25:57
Hope nothing but precipitation falls on your head! π
Nov 27, 2012 @ 20:40:02
Now that was funny, and I’ll be keeping my eyes on the sky.
Nov 27, 2012 @ 18:53:44
I am in the final edit of a humorus sci-fi novel… I posted about one third of it on my blog as a teaser… I do need to get noticed… I am also an artist of all types… and I do shameless self-promotion every other day…
