Just a quick post to let you know that I’m taking a brief break from the action around here.
This weekend I’m catching up with all sorts of family.
- Alex is coming to visit Friday night through Saturday morning, so I’m spending Friday making a yummy vegan meal. Yes, It is possible–Shepard’s Pie with lentils and roasted veggies instead of ground meat, tomato/cucumber salad, my home-made bread (which I can’t eat), and apple crisp (which I can eat due to some magical substitutions).
- My mom and I are heading to Connecticut to visit my younger sister and her family. We’re leaving Saturday around noon (when Alex moves on to plans of his own) and coming back sometime on Monday. So don’t expect to hear anything from me until Tuesday, the 23rd.
- While in Connecticut, we and 300 or so other lucky people will be visiting with these Modern Family cast members in an “Actors Studio” type Q & A. I’ll be sure to tell you all about it.

Now Mitch, you promised that you’d let me do the Cam-Cam-a-Rama with Lorna. You know how well she dances. I promise she won’t embarrass you and you know I won’t embarrass you.
So, have a great weekend. I certainly intend to!

Oct 23, 2012 @ 10:46:55
And it was SO worth it. Jesse and Eric were hysterical. I can’t imagine anyone on that sow ever feeling like it is “work.”

Oh Pete, once you had a bite, you would be dreaming sweet, savory dreams of my Shepard’s Pie. And your digestive tract would be thanking you (maybe the people around you wouldn’t be, but…) 😉

Have a great visit with Alex. I too just visited my daughter and got my kid fix to last until Thanksgiving. Your vegan meal sounds yummy. I make a wonderful chili with wheatberries. Add some cornbread and the world is warm and toasty. Enjoy your time off from blog land.

You go on and have a good time, but who’s doggy-sitting Scrappy?
Oct 20, 2012 @ 21:42:18
“Shepard’s Pie with lentils and roasted veggies instead of ground meat”
This just sounds wrong, so so wrong. I think that line alone is going to give me nightmares.
